Joyce Gaffney, Instructor

Instructor JgaffneyJoyce Gaffney is a graduate of University of Wisconsin - Madison(UW), where she earned B.S. degrees in Dance and Environmental Science. Born in Barrington, IL,  she received her early dance training from The Barrington Dance Academy. At UW, Joyce had the privilege to perform works by guest choreographers Bill T. Jones /Arnie Zane Dance Company and Rob Kitsos. She also performed work by university faculty choreographers: Karen McShane Hellenbrand, Li Chiao-Ping, Marlene Skog, Liz Sexe and Jin-Wen Yu. Joyce received scholarships to attend: River North Dance Chicago's Summer Intensive, World Dance Alliance - America's Conference, and ACDA North Central Conference. Through adjudication, her choreography was selected to appear in multiple UW Dance Department student concerts.  Professionally she has performed with Jin-Wen Yu Dance in “Moments”, which debuted at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts. In addition to freelance performance work, Joyce also works as a dance teacher and choreographer in the Chicago Suburbs.
